ODC Welcomes External Examiners for Final Professional Qualifying Examination

Oman Dental College (ODC) recently welcomed two highly reputable international external examiners to oversee their BDS V final year professional qualifying examination.

Professor Corrado Paganelli, president of the Association for Dental Education in Europe and dean of the University of Brescia Dental School together with Professor William Saunders, dean of the faculty of dental surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and emeritus professor of endodontology at the University of Dundee, examined BDS V final year students in their clinical dentistry examination.

“This is my first visit to Oman, and I am delighted to see that the standard of dental education at ODC is higher than that at universities in many other countries,” said Professor Paganelli. “The facilities in the college are state-of-the-art and comparable to those in the dental institutions in Europe,” he added.

“The management at ODC is second to none. Its dedicated faculty is extremely well organised. Oman should be extremely proud of ODC and the competent professionals it produces. Throughout the examination, it was clear that the students at ODC have a skillset and knowledge base that matches the top benchmark in dentistry across the world,” said Professor Saunders.

Oman Dental College routinely invites a range of external examiners to oversee and supervise its final examinations for each year of its BDS degree programme annually. External examiners are appointed from India, the UK, Dubai, Sultan Qaboos University and the Ministry of Health.
